Oooh these babies are priceless! Iv’e used these exact silicone bags to store many-a-leftover veggies, baked goods, and random other odds and ends.
These silicone bags have not yet entered my life, but oh how I want them to! These silicone bags (called “Stasher Bags”) seal themselves so you don’t have to worry about a pesky plastic zipper. They’re more expensive, but might be worth the convenience factor. How nice would my (Secretly) Healthy Banana Blackout Cookies look in there?!
I’m always losing the lids to my bowls and tupperware, so set of these Organic Reusable Food Wraps (which are also biodegradable and non-toxic) would be a welcome addition to my sustainable kitchen so I don’t have to keep un-wrinkling the same piece of foil over and over again!
This very set of silicone food huggers has saved many an onion, apple, and other random fruit/veggie from going bad in my fridge! I love these because you can forgo a plastic bag and let a fruit or vegetable’s natural skin work for you.
This set of organic cotton bags (in three different sizes) has kept me from wasting so very many plastic bags at my local market in the produce and bulk section! I love that I can keep them in my reusable grocery bags that I take shopping anyway and then throw them in the wash when they get dirty. These would be perfect for gathering ingredients for my Vegan Split Pea Stew!
Speaking of grocery shopping, these nylon, rip-resistant grocery bags that fold up into the size of my palm are a MUST in my life. I have to credit my mom for finding this wonderful innovation! I keep one of these in my purse and backpack (my university has a grocery store on campus) for unforeseen grocery runs and random events where I just end up carrying more than I expected.
I love these bamboo sponges because they’re super absorbent , made of 95% bamboo (which is a super-fast growing plant and more sustainable than most plastic-based alternatives) and have actually lasted a really long time. There’s this wonky idea that more eco-friendly alternatives are sub-par, but as I’ve been more mindfully making earthy lifestyle choices, I’ve been finding quite the opposite!
This bristle brush is SO COOL because it’s an eco-friendly option made of wood instead of plastic. The brush head also comes off (and is compostable)— which means you don’t have to toss the whole thing when just the top needs replacing!
Silicone baking sheets are perfect for going parchment paper-less (and often oil-free) when roasting veggies (like these Balsamic-Dijon Roasted Veggies) and baking ALLLL the (plant-based) cookies (like these Fluffy Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies and these Keto Almond Cookies).
I love my reusable silicone baking cups so much, I even featured them in my Healthy Vegan Apple Cinnamon Muffins Recipe! (I found mine at goodwill, but this version looks to be almost the exact same). It’s nice because they’re dishwasher friendly and make oil-free baking a breeze!
Look no further for the ultimate, organic bamboo utensil set perfect for cooking and serving! These were gifted to me as a move-in present and they’re one of my favorite things to use in my kitchen.
My variously-sized glass mixing bowls are an absolute godsend! Plus, the fact that these have lids has saved many-a-recipe from going bad. I suggest using the biggest one to mix up some Easy Vegan Stuffing!
What, you’re not on the reusable straw train yet?! This was my family’s first set of straws and they did us well.
Those that experience chilly lips with metal straws (looking at you, mama), have had better luck with wooden straws like these! They’re also bamboo, which is always a sustainable plus (and pretty vibe-y if I do say so myself).
What earth-lover doesn’t enjoy avoiding single-use items on the go?! I’m happy to say that my To-Go Ware set of bamboo reusable utensils lives in my purse and keeps me from contact with many-a-polyurethane. I’m hoping this Christmas I’ll get another one (wink, wink) so I can keep a set in my backpack, too!
